Fasting Guidelines

What to bring to your surgery

Prescription instructions

STOP EATING solid food including gum and candies at midnight prior to your surgery


STOP DRINKING clear fluids 3 hours prior to your arrival time


Failure to comply with Fasting Guidelines may result in a surgery cancellation and rebooking fee of $300.00

What to bring to your surgery

Prescription instructions

You will receive a prescription for 5 bottles of eye drops

Starting the day before surgery you start 3 of those bottles.

The day of surgery you start the other two bottles just before you leave home

After Surgery instructions:

Gatiflaoxacin - 1 drop 4 times a day for 1 week

Prednisolone - 1 drop 4 times a day for 2 weeks, then 1 drop 2 times a day for 2 weeks

Ketorolac - 1 drop 4 times a day for 2 weeks, then 1 drop 2 times a day for 2 weeks

  1. Surgical Envelope and ALL papers inside
  2. Your valid Health Card
  3. List of all medications that you are taking
  4. Medications you may need such as puffers, nitroglycerin and insulin
  5. Debit/Credit card if purchasing a premium lens
  6. A loonie ($1.00) for a wheelchair deposit
