Blepharitis

Blepharitis is a common and persistent inflammation of the eyelids. There are several types of blepharitis most of which are caused by bacterial infection, however allergies, toxins or viral infection can also lead to its development.

Symptoms of Blepharitis:

(Typically worse in the morning)

• Watery eyes
• Red eyes
• A gritty, burning or stinging sensation in the eyes
• Eyelids that appear greasy
• Itchy eyelids
• Red, swollen eyelids
• Flaking of the skin around the eyes
• Crusted eyelashes
• Eyelid sticking
• More frequent blinking
• Sensitivity to light
• Blurred vision that usually improves with blinking

Treatments include:

• Hot Compresses, tear drop supplements and lid care scrubs daily to clean eyelids
